Water beneath a fridge does not identify a single failed part. Condensation, the defrost drain, a water connection and a spill inside can look similar. Record where the water starts and whether cooling has changed. Keep clear of wet electrical fittings and protect food if the temperature rises.
Separate inside water from a floor leak
Water under drawers
Note whether water collects inside the cabinet or only on the floor. Check for an obvious spilled container without removing fixed panels. Describe ice buildup, door-seal condition and whether the same puddle returns.
A dispenser or plumbed fridge
Tell us whether the model has a water dispenser, ice maker or supply line. A change after moving the fridge, changing a filter or connecting water is useful evidence. Do not pull the appliance out to inspect an inaccessible connection.
Check doors and visible conditions
Make sure food packages do not obstruct the door. Note the displayed setting and an actual thermometer reading if you have one. A display usually shows a setting rather than proving food temperature. Samsung’s leaking fridge guidance describes condensation and other causes. LG’s leak support covers checks for its models.
Stop unsafe leak investigations
Do not poke tools into a drain, chip ice with a knife or remove the rear cover. Do not handle a plug or socket surrounded by water. In a Dubai apartment, report water spreading beyond your kitchen to building management. Do not assume local heat proves that a refrigerant refill is needed.
Protect food and send repair details
If cooling is affected, use suitable working cold storage and the food safety chart. Do not taste food to decide whether it is safe. Send the model, water location, temperature readings and any water-supply changes. Our fridge repair service assesses the leak and cooling separately.
Compare the proposed work
Ask whether the work concerns a seal, drain, water fitting or cooling fault. Confirm access and parts before approving the quote. Read the fridge cooling guide and fridge noise guide when those symptoms also occur. Request an inspection.
Frequently asked questions
Using the appliance
Does a fridge leak mean a refrigerant leak?
No. Water and refrigerant are different. The visible puddle needs its own inspection.
Can condensation cause water?
Yes. Door and room conditions can contribute, but repeated water still needs assessment.
Should I clear a drain with wire?
No. Follow only owner maintenance described in the model manual.
Booking and repair
Is the display the food temperature?
Often it shows the selected setting. Use a suitable thermometer when checking stored food.
Can the technician confirm food is safe?
An appliance repair does not certify food safety. Follow food-handling guidance separately.
